Weekend Stays From Mumbai is a series on places to stay for a weekend away from Mumbai. It focuses on the place of stay. Details about the destination are very limited.

Mahua Bagh, Nandgaon (Near Murud, Raigad)
Mahua Bagh is between Kashid and Murud, 10 km before Murud. It is a farm resort by the sea, on the Konkan coast. Ā The beach is nothing to write about and is at a short walk from the resort. It is more rocky than sandy.
Fairly a large farm with cashew, chikoo, palm, and custard apple trees. There are about 10 or 12 rooms, built on the slopes of a hillock. Rooms are spacious and has large open terraces. At the time we stayed there, restaurant was in open air.
Food was good. So was the service.
We were also offered a complementary candle-light dinner, slightly away from the main restaurant area, which was a nice experience.
Perfect for a peaceful, one-night weekend getaway. Great for a reading holiday.
Mahua Bagh is about 140 km from Mumbai via Panvel, Alibaug, and Kashid. After crossing Nandgaon, look for the Mazgaon bridge. Around 300 m after the bridge, take the mud road toward right and drive till you reach the resort.
Nearby places of Interest: Murud Janjira sea fort andĀ Phansad Wild Life Sanctuary.
Alternate travelĀ options: Take theĀ ferry from Gateway to Mandwa jetty. Hire an auto or tuk-tuk from Mandwa.
TWaC Rating: 4/5.

How do you find these places ?Ā
I have been to a few myself, but those are more well known. This (as well as Forest Resort) are great finds
Would be great if you could put up contact details for the resort as well as the prices
Hi Pradosh,
We normally find these places while skimming the internet. Sometimes through contacts.Ā
Contacts and rates are typically available on net. And our intention is also that we don’t want our posts to be seen as sponsored posts.
Happy traveling
Cheers
